Not getting enough GPS positions

If you are not getting enough GPS positions or haven't got any for a long time, check the following:

- Is the collar switched off?

- What mode are you in?

If you are in Slow Mode you might want to change it to a faster mode. However, at this point try switching it to Search Mode (the one with the magnifying glass)

- Do the following test if you have the collar:
Take the collar outside with a direct line to the sky and activate Search Mode. If you get positions on the map, read the next section. If you don't get any positions, click on this link:
- Understand what could be happening if you are not getting enough GPS positions

Sometimes your cat spends a long time in your house where you would get radio signal but no GPS positions.

As you already know, GPS does not work if there is no direct line between the collar and the sky. This means that if your cat frequents an area with poor GPS coverage you might not get a position on the map. You could, however, get radio signals which can be helpful to find him.
One other possibility is that your cat is under a car, in a forest, inside someone else's house or a garage where you would need to use the Radio Search Mode to find him.
If your cat has a large natural territory he could be out of the HomeStation's range which would explain why you don't always get GPS or radio signal. This article talks more about this:
