Installing the HomeStation Configurator on an Apple Computer

Important: This article is for devices with serial numbers below 20,000. If your petTracer was purchased after April 2025 and has a serial number above 20,000, please follow the setup instructions in the app or click on this link for HELP.


During the registration process you will be asked to download the Wi-Fi Configurator Software. Alternatively you can download it here.


You will also follow these steps to connect to your phone's hotspot if you need to make a mobile HomeStation.

Step by Step explanation:

Ensure the HomeStation is NOT plugged in when you start software

STEP 1:

Please wait up to 5 min. after plugging the HomeStation to your computer as it might need to download the right driver in the background. If it doesn't change, press here. 

This is what you should see after you connect HomeStation:


STEP 2:

Choose your network on the left side and once it is added you will see it under the Known networks column on the right. You can then press on Finish Setup. We advise that you add your phone's hotspot as the 1st Wi-Fi as this will help if you need to make a mobile HomeStation. More on this here


WHAT TO DO NEXT

  1. Connect the HomeStation to the mains. Please place it near a window and on your house's top floor or as high as possible
  2. Place the collar on the HomeStation. The LED on the collar will flash.
  3. Check the app or online portal. The collar should show as charging and the radio icon will be full.
  4. Activate Live Mode (Tracking Modes) 
  5. Place the collar outside under open sky
  6. Once valid GPS positions are found your collar is ready for use. Ensure the collar is fully charged before placing it on your cat

We suggest using the collar in Fast Mode for a couple of weeks. This way you will get to know your cat's natural territory very quickly.
